Tiramisu Cake

I really liked this cake. The yellow cake was soft and fine, and I really loved the frosting. All together it was so good!

I made a half batch in 6 in pans, and I did make a couple substitutions. I ran out of sugar and it wasn't going to work to run to the store, so I used 1/4 c white sugar and 1/2 c powdered sugar. For the TB alcohol in the syrup and the frosting, I used 1/8 tsp almond extract for each instead.

In putting it together, I didn't read well, and I only put half the chocolate between the layers. So I ended putting it on the sides, too, which still tasted pretty good. This is my favorite Dorie cake so far. Thanks to Megan of My Baking Adventures for picking the recipe!

I think the cake was terrific too - and I'm glad you liked it!

And I wished I had thought of putting the chocolate on the sides! More chocolate is always a good thing -

Looks great, I agree it's a delicious cake. I originally thought the chocolate was to be divided too, but noticed at last minute it wasn't. I like the idea of it on the side.

Oh - almond extract sounds like a great addition! I'll have to remember that one if I make it again.
