Chipster-topped Brownies

For this week's TWD, Beth of Supplicious picked the Chipster-Topped Brownies. These went really quickly here, even though I underbaked them. I don't really like chocolate chip bars, so I wanted to be careful not to overbake, and somehow the toothpick did come out clean. Looking at the picture now I can tell they weren't in long enough, I'll know better next time :)

I was most surprised how easily the cookie dough spread over the brownie base - I don't usually do to well with swirling or layers or anything too involved :)

I used part of a Trader Joe's pound plus 72% for the brownie part and left out the walnuts. The whole family liked these. Thanks to Beth for the great pick!

Oh yours look great. I'm so with you on the swirling thing. I usually wind up with a mixed mess ... so I just go with it! :)

I was also surprised that the cookie dough spread more easily than I thought it would! It seems a lot of people's brownies (mine included) needed more baking time.

They sure don't look underbaked to me! In fact, I could reach through and grab one right now!

Your brownies look nice and fudgey! I had an easy time spreading the cookie dough too! =)
