HBin5 Bread Braid #9

This is my second try with the Gluten-Free Olive Oil Bread, and this time the kids ate it! (Here's my first attempt - the kids didn't like how white the bread was).

For this try, I subbed only about 1/4 c of the brown rice flour with buckwheat flour, and I added about 2 TB of molasses. We like the whole grain breads around here, so this loaf has been our best so far!

Visit Michelle at Big Black Dog to see how the other bakers did!

wow, i am impressed that does not look like a gluten free. the loaf looks airy and not dense. Sounds like you guys are enjoying it and that's the important thing. Good for you for trying until you got it right for you.

It looks hearty and good. I am glad your kids enjoyed this one! I didn't try the gluten free, but I am not sure what reaction I would have gotten from the. At this point in time, they have tried everything I have made!

When I made the Gluten free I was surprised at how white the bread was. Now I am so used to whole wheat that just plain white bread looks so boring. But it is funny that you kids noticed too.

Great idea to add the molasses!

I haven't baked my loaf of gluten-free yet, but I did think to myself that it looked quite white and I didn't really feel like I was making whole grain bread. Yours looks yummy!

Thank you for putting both posts up! When I finally get around to making a gluten free I'll be better prepared for the color! The pic looks tasty!

Great job. I love that your children thought the bread was too white.
